Stan against evil – season 3 review

Season 3 is finally here and I just finished watching it. So let’s see how it compares to the rest of the show.

If you’ve read my previous review on the first two seasons you will already know that this show is a guilty pleasure of mine. It is the right mix of corniness, humor, and horror with a killer lead role.

So in the last season, Stan had traveled in the past in order to save his wife. This resulted in success but with a grave cost. His wife was alive and healthy in the present day but Stan had died. This led Evie to go after him and attempt to save him. Evie succeeds but unfortunately when they go back to their own timeline they find out that the portal to hell was never closed and all hell broke loose. Because of this and the constant attacks from constable Eccles, Stan is forced to do something horrible in order to save his town.

This season was definitely a step above the first two. Some of the issues I had in them were fixed and it had much more to offer. From giant monster battles to killer puppets and even a hilarious version of Mulder and Scully from the X files. They seemed to be more comfortable in their own shoes and it is visible. And if there is one thing they are great in it’s definitely the season finales. Each season ends with a great cliffhanger and this one was definitely the best. It lets them go in any direction that they could possibly want to go in the future. a Stan against evil season 4 sounds great but from what I’ve gathered it might not be possible.

And as I’ve said before people do compare it with Ash vs evil dead but it really is it’s own thing and it really showed in this season. I’m most grateful for this season because it was coming out at the same time as American horror story and it was the saving grace of those weeks when I felt annoyed from the last few episodes.

Final verdict: 8/10
